Legacy House of Taylorsville

Leadership Team

Darren Jacobson

Executive Director

Darren is originally from Bountiful, Utah. His passion for senior living began at the age of 12 when he began volunteering at a local nursing home delivering mail, reading stories, and playing the piano. He has his bachelor’s degree in long-term care administration from Weber State University and his master’s in healthcare management from Western Governor’s University. Darren is passionate about empowering the residents he serves to live happy, healthy lives, and believes there is nothing better than putting smiles on their faces. One interesting fact about Darren is that he is an accomplished pianist – he plays, tunes, and repairs pianos in his spare time.

Michele Cockayne

Sales & Marketing Director

Michele joined the Legacy family after being a stay-at-home mother for 16 years. She began her career at Legacy House of Taylorsville with a deep desire to touch the lives of each resident there. To her great surprise, the residents have been the ones to touch her life! She loves to laugh or cry with the residents and spend time talking with them. Michele feels fortunate to glean from the wisdom the residents have gained during their own lives. She feels lucky to work in a community that she loves and that blesses her life so much. Michele has been married for over 25 years, is the mother of four children, and loves spending time with them and her grandchildren.

Rose Draper

Administrative Assistant

Rose knows firsthand what it is like to have a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease—both her father-in-law and mother-in-law were former residents at Legacy House of Taylorsville. Rose is proud to work in a community with associates who truly care for residents and their families. Her favorite thing about Legacy is that there is a real sense of love. Rose shares with families who are considering moving a loved on into a community that Legacy House of Taylorsville was a lifesaver for both of her in-laws and for her family. Rose has been with Legacy since 2006, but has more than 20 years working in healthcare. Rose enjoys camping and traveling with her husband and children.

Jamie Brimhall

Resident Care Coordinator

Jamie is originally from Sandy, Utah. She studied early childhood education and family and consumer science at the University of Utah and nursing at Ameritech. Making a difference in the lives of the residents she serves is a priority for Jamie. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her five children, going out to eat or to the movies, hiking, the beach, sunsets, and Disneyland.
